After studying jazz at school and subsequently singing backing vocals for Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker, up and coming British singer/songwriter NAO has honed a sound, drawn on influences from the R&B and neo-soul artists of the 1990s and 2000s, to create what she claims is her own genre: wonky funk.

The east Londoner released her debut EP, So Good, in 2014 and subsequently came third in the BBC’s Sound of 2016. Her debut album, For All We Know, was released this year gaining praise from the likes of The Fader who claimed it brought her ‘focused brand of electro-soul to the next level’. The album also got coverage in Vogue and The Guardian, securing her position as one of UK music’s most exciting emerging vocal talents, something that was solidified with her nomination in the Best Female category at this year's MOBO Awards.
